Willkommen im Naturpark Frankenhöhe und seiner herrlichen Hügellandschaft vor den Toren Rothenburgs. Unser Reiterhof liegt absolut ruhig und bietet auch für große oder befreundete Familien jede Menge Platz. Freuen Sie sich auf unsere zwölf Pferde. Wir, Else und Willi sowie unsere zwei erwachsenen Töchter Moni und Julia, die sich ums Reiten kümmern, sind Gastgeber aus Leidenschaft!

The rental price per apartment is designed for four people. For each additional person we charge a surcharge of 8 euros per day.
The rental price is valid from 5 nights. For shorter stays we charge a separate surcharge of 40 euros.

Location & Size

The vacation farm Familie Rohn is located in Pleikartshof, five kilometers from Gebsattel. The wonderful medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber is 15 minutes away, Nuremberg and Würzburg are about an hour's drive away. The hamlet consists of three farms surrounded by meadows and forests. It was once part of a sheep farm belonging to the Lords of Rothenburg - its history dates back to the 13th century. It has been in the possession of our family for more than 150 years. From 1992 to 1994 we renovated the former barn and built a new cottage. In this way six apartments and a new horse stable were created. The hurricane Wiebke had left severe damage in our forest - and we wanted to make good use of the wood that was so valuable to us. This is exactly the reason why you will find only solid wood furniture, made by a carpenter, in our house: all beds, cupboards and the farmhouse corner benches. Sustainability, biological materials - we attach particular importance to this. The floors are made of healthy cork, the walls we have plastered with trass lime. Our guests tell how restful they sleep with us. The yard area measures 1.8 hectares, we have distributed various seating areas on it - plenty of space for young and old!

Farm experiences

Our farm was also a dairy farm until two years ago. In the meantime, our eight mother cows and their offspring are allowed to spend a quiet life together on the pasture. Our oldest cow is called Röschen, she has given birth to twins five times and triplets once at the age of 17. Species-appropriate husbandry, respect for nature and animals is a matter close to our hearts. Also our cats, dog and rabbits have it fine - as well as the about 20 ducks and thirty chickens of different breed, which lay different colored breakfast eggs for our guests. By the way, the boss on the farm is tomcat Oskar - who welcomes newly arriving guests when they move in.

Riding is at the center of everything we do

Over thirty years ago our daughter Moni discovered her enthusiasm for horses. At that time she got her first pony. In the meantime we have brought it up to 12 horses - two Shettys, which can also pull our small carriage, three Haflingers, three Lewitzers, two Norwegians and two warmbloods. For this reason, there is something for every age and riding experience group from about five years old. Moni, a qualified horse trainer specializing in riding, gives individual and group lessons in the large hall, which measures 48 by 25 meters, and the little ones are introduced in a playful manner. Julia takes care of the guided riding on the two Lewitzers. Experienced riders are allowed to go out into the countryside. We are very happy to be able to offer the "Franklin Method", where balls are used and posture is trained. What else we have:

  • A 250 sqm play barn with table tennis, billiards, foosball and a small bowling alley
  • A large fleet of vehicles: from the Bobby-Car to the family kettcar

  • Barbecue area and sunbathing lawn with seats
  • Lounge for families with a real jukebox

With us you swim in your own bathing lake

Our latest project was the small swimming lake at the edge of the forest, which is only 400 meters away from the farm. We have dredged the former fish pond and filled a shallow part with sand - for the little ones. The fresh water comes from the Frankenhöhe and there is even an island!

Highlights in the surroundings

Our region is worth visiting at any time of the year. In the summer months, our guests lie under the fruit trees, from which they are welcome to harvest or taste our jams. About 40,000 kilometers of marked trails through the low mountain landscape make hikers' hearts beat faster, as does the hiking trail of the municipality of Gebsattel, which connects to Pleikartshof. It leads past a spring in Wildenhof on the Föhrlesberg, which supplies the finest drinking water. A visit to Rothenburg with its medieval old town is an absolute must. Directly from our farm we recommend an extensive walk to Kirnberg to the Gasthaus zur Linde. In winter, when there is enough snow, cross-country ski trails are groomed in the area, then we harness our ponies in front of toboggans and the forest lake entices you to go ice skating.
