Ferienhof Endres Wiesenttal
Bauernhof/ Ferienhof
Familiärer Obsthof in idyllischem Seitental
Location & Size
The Endres holiday farm is located in the quiet village of Schlehenmühle, which has only 15 houses and belongs to the climatic health resort of Egloffstein in the district of Forchheim, 5 kilometres away. Not far from our farm, the short Äpfelbach flows into the Trubach, forming a beautiful waterfall designated as a natural monument. Here, in a small side valley of the hiking paradise Trubachtal surrounded by untouched forests, our holiday farm offers three comfortably furnished rooms with shower and WC. For a relaxed start to the day, we spoil you with a rich breakfast: enjoy homemade jams and cakes, fresh eggs and seasonal fruit directly from our farm in our lounge with winter garden.
Farm experiences
Summer begins with the sweet taste of fully ripe cherries and ends with the fruity scent of freshly picked apples. In between, we harvest plenty of mirabelles, plums and pears: fruit is our passion and especially the cultivation of cherries has a long tradition on our part-time farm. A large part of our cherry harvest goes to supermarkets via the Igensdorf fruit cooperative, while the remaining fruit from our meadow orchard is refined by Grandpa Ludwig and me, Sabina, into fine wines that you are welcome to taste!
With hand and heart: harvesting fruit trees, feeding chickens, catching trout.
Our cherry orchard with several hundred trees is located just outside Schlehenmühle. You are welcome to help us with the harvest. We still pick the cherries by hand! We will show you what is involved and will also be happy to explain what is important in the care of fruit trees. If you enjoy working on the farm, why not join us when we feed the chickens and choose an egg for breakfast? Or go with us to the trout pond, where around 200 fish swim - here at the edge of the forest you can have an idyllic picnic and relax while your children scatter the fish food or watch us take trout out of the water with the cheese scoop. We are happy to offer you fresh fish to grill in our garden house. What else can the little guests on our farm look forward to?
- Giant trampoline and swing
- a large selection of board games
- the cuddly cats Minka and Charly
Highlights in the surroundings
The hiking paradise Trubachtal is right on our doorstep: 500 kilometres of hiking and theme trails, a well-developed cycling network, varied Nordic walking routes as well as world-famous climbing and bouldering rocks await you here. At Easter time, you can see the world's largest Easter fountain in the neighbouring village of Bieberbach, and in winter you can experience a tradition that is only cultivated in Franconian Switzerland with the Eternal Adoration light festivals. The atmospheric processions with impressive bonfires on the surrounding mountainsides take place, for example, in Oberailsfeld (20 December), Gößweinstein (26 December), Nankendorf (31 December), Obertrubach (3 January) and Pottenstein (6 January).
Regardless of the season, active holidaymakers and those interested in culture can reach attractive excursion destinations in Franconian Switzerland in just 10 to 25 minutes by car, such as:
- Binghöhle cave in Streitberg
- Pottenstein Adventure Mile (including the Devil's Cave, summer toboggan run, climbing forest)
- Franconian Switzerland Museum
- Neideck castle ruins
- Hundshaupten Game Park
- Betzenstein Adventure Park
- Historic rock cellars in Egloffstein
- German Camera Museum Plech
