Hainzlmeir Hof Rohrdorf
Bauernhof/ Ferienhof
Family-friendly and sustainable farm
Location and size
The Hainzlmeir Hof is idyllically located in an absolutely secluded location in the Chiemsee Alpine region, secluded and quiet - at the same time in the middle of the recreation area and close to many attractive excursion destinations. You can easily shop in nearby Frasdorf, a nice town about five km away. Rosenheim with its beautiful old town and many pretty shops, cafés or restaurants can be reached in 20 minutes, the Simssee, where you can swim wonderfully in summer, in 10 minutes and the Bernau am Chiemsee lido is 15 minutes away. The Austrian border is not far either - skiers need about half an hour to get to the ski area, and Salzburg and the state capital Munich are only about an hour away from us.
In the mid-1960s, our grandma Elisabeth took over the Hainzlmair Hof as a classic farm from her aunt. About 10 years ago we stopped dairy farming and gradually switched to growing fruit and vegetables. We still have young cattle and oxen on our farm - as leased cattle outside on our pastures in the summer and in our stables during the winter months.
Our two holiday apartments are furnished to a high standard: one is particularly suitable for groups during the low season as it has several sleeping spaces. Our other ground floor apartment is without a doubt a gem: with natural wooden floors and tiles, underfloor heating and a modern bathroom. To be honest: we have furnished it as lovingly as we ourselves like to live. The terrace is a real highlight - not just because of the stunning view, but because it is an eye-catcher with its paving stones and the fine picket fence.
Farm experiences
We are not a classic dairy farm because our family switched to boarding cattle and growing fruit about 10 years ago. And on a pretty big scale. We grow apples, including old varieties such as “Ontario”, “Kaiser Wilhelm” and “rote Sternrenette” - but also countless new varieties. We harvest pumpkins, tomatoes, cucumbers, walnuts from our 100-year-old tree, plums and pears and market them directly in a small shop on the farm. We have wonderful homemade jams, chutneys and honey from our cousin - and we don't use any sprays or artificial fertilizers. We now have around 1,000 fruit trees, and more are still being added. This is all because I, Andreas, discovered my passion for growing fruit as a young farmer 15 years ago - it started with our old orchard fruit trees and continued to develop year after year.
Parents with children are particularly happy about our large, open area where everyone can move around as they please. The little ones love to cuddle with our rabbits. Then we have turkeys and soon pigs, bee colonies for our trees and our older dog Mira, who likes to watch everything from a distance. What else we have:
Playground with swings
Slide and rocking horse
Sandbox
Table tennis
Golfing, hiking, cycling, winter sports - active couples like us
Our four-star holiday apartment is particularly suitable for couples - some guests appreciate that there are two bedrooms available. Our location is particularly attractive for golfers - because the Patting-Hochriesblick golf course, a “reversible” golf course (the only one in Germany where you can play clockwise and anti-clockwise) is almost right on the doorstep. Anyone who likes to be active will be happy about the extensive bicycle network - and with the e-bike you can easily reach many excursion destinations and our beautiful lakes. Hikers start directly from the farm, for example to Riedering, Achenmühle, Lauterbach or Frasdorf.
A particularly beautiful time of year for us is winter, when the snow dusts and the mountains shine. The nearby cross-country ski trail in Sachrang is a real treat for cross-country skiers, while alpine skiers head to Sudelfeld or Hochkössen in Tyrol. Try a sleigh ride or long walks on our winter paths. And if you feel like it, visit us and our Bavarian towns decorated for Christmas, the Christmas markets or, for connoisseurs, the thermal baths in Bad Aibling or Bad Reichenhall.
Highlights in the area
Our guests say that the choice of leisure and excursion options with us is endless. From us you can easily reach the state capital of Munich or Salzburg, take a boat trip on Lake Chiemsee, climb challenging via ferratas or go on easy hikes with the family. Wasserburg am Inn is also worth a trip, as are the 30 bathing lakes in our beautiful region. Numerous festivals, small stages, traditional costume festivals and visits to our taverns and beer gardens are more than just a treat. And the famous “Hirtzinger” inn, known for its “Wirtshausmusikanten” is almost on the doorstep.
