Gentle hilly landscape in the Inn-Salzach region

In the afternoon, the coffee machine is in the lounge
available to our house guests free of charge.

Location & Size

Our farm is situated in the beautiful Inn-Salzach region - the Inn is only 2 km away from us as the crow flies. You can reach Mühldorf am Inn in about 20 minutes, Wasserburg and Altötting in about 30 minutes, Burghausen in about 40 minutes.
The Wagnerhof, as its name suggests, was once a wainwright's workshop where wheels and wagons were made. The history of the three-sided farm certainly goes back a long way - it has been in our family since 1886, now in the fourth generation, and with 8.4 hectares of agricultural land as well as 1.6 hectares of forest, we manage it together. Grandpa Sepp and Grandma Lisbeth started welcoming the first holiday guests in 1994 - a tradition that we have gradually expanded over the years and now enjoy managing together as a three-generation family.
In the past years, something new has always been added - most recently our barn, which will house a spacious indoor play area in the future. Living sustainably in the rhythm of nature has always been an important concern for us as an organic farm: this is exactly what you can see in our holiday flats. We have named some of them after our common wood species and equipped them accordingly. What they all have in common is that only natural materials were used - most of the wood comes from our own forest and was processed by the local carpenter. Depending on the location, the view from the windows and balcony falls over the courtyard, meadows and trees and swings all the way to the Chiemgau mountain range: our regional breakfast basket, which includes many of our own products, makes the start of the day a pleasure.

Farm experiences

We are a part-time organic farm and now produce for our own needs. As a three-generation family, we work hand in hand and naturally involve our guests, especially the children. They are welcome to help with the care of the animals - in the stable, on the pasture, with the rabbits, ducks, cats or pigs. In our experience, the greatest happiness is the daily "looking after the chickens" and the associated collecting of the eggs, which of course taste particularly good. Children are allowed to move around freely, to let their imagination run wild, to be present at the harvesting of our organic grain, the spelt as well as the feed oats, rye or wheat for our cows. Our guests especially appreciate that there is always someone from us on the farm who can explain what is going on or has time for a chat. Grandpa Sepp is always happy to make time - and Grandma Lisbeth has plenty of stories and anecdotes in store, after all she grew up here on the farm.
As soon as they arrive, we show them around the Wagnerhof, explain what needs to be done and when, point out connections. Children quickly understand what it means to live and work in the rhythm of nature.
A barbecue is available to our guests at all times - the wood for firing up the barbecue can be collected in our own forest.
What else is there with us?

- Play tower with two slides and a wobbling bridge
- seesaw, trampoline and swing
- a really big sandpit for building and mudding
- Soon (our current project) a new large indoor area with table tennis, table football, climbing wall and a covered seating area in front of it.
- Kettcars, pedal tractors + trailers, bobbycars....
- Football pitch with goals
- Various activities such as baking bread
- and much more

Spring, autumn and winter - friendly families and couples

What do we particularly enjoy? The in-between seasons! Especially the spring, when the fruit trees in our garden are in full bloom and you can enjoy the buzzing of our own bee colonies - in joyful anticipation of the first honey.
Especially in the low season, couples with friends or families with small children like to visit us and marvel at what nature has in store. Our lounge with its wood-burning stove and our winter garden are perfect for spending time together - especially when it is snowing outside or the wind is whistling around the farm.
Winter also has its own special charm - walks along the nearby River Inn, snowball fights, sledding down the hills: give it a try!

Highlights in the surroundings

Our farm is situated at an altitude of 600 metres - if the view is good, you can look directly into the Chiemgau Alps, to the Wendelstein and the Hochplatte. Simply walk from our farm in the direction of Burg Megling - from there you have an impressive view down to the Inn. Return to the farm via the steep Himmelsleiter (ladder to heaven). Sporty cyclists will get their money's worth due to the hilly landscape, as will e-bike riders, for whom we have a charging station. In summer you can swim at Lake Soy, which is about 20 minutes away, and in winter you can go for endless walks or visit one of the numerous Inn-Salzach towns with their Christmas markets.
